About Serge Romanchak

Serge Romanchak received his Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from West Chester State University, studying with Benjamin Whitten.  He continued his graduate work at The Catholic University of America, studying with Emerson Meyers and George Manos. While at Catholic U., Serge participated in Master Classes with Bela Nagy, Leon Fleisher, and other eminent pianists and was chosen to perform Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the University Orchestra. After graduating in 1977 from Catholic University with a Master of Music in piano performance, Mr. Romanchak continued his piano studies with Alexander Lipsky and began his teaching career.   

Mr. Romanchak is one of the Principal Conductors of the St. Nicholas Cathedral Choir in Washington, D.C. He also performs as a soloist and chamber musician in the Washington, DC, metro area. He has given recitals at the French Embassy, Anderson House Museum, DACOR-Bacon House, The Lyceum, and The Allentown Art Museum.  Serge also appears as a jazz pianist and has performed in events for The Supreme Court, Kawai Music Corp., The Fairfax Symphony, and Jordan Kitts Music Corp.

His CD, Serge Romanchak Plays Ravel and Chopin, was released in 2010.
